About Us
Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue, Inc. is recognized as a major resource for the welfare of homeless, abandoned and abused companion animals in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Utah and Wyoming. We are working on building support groups in New Mexico, Iowa, Idaho and Montana this year.
Our goal is to lower euthanasia rates in our region by:
1. Bringing adoptable pets into our program for medical and social rehabilitation and re-homing.
2. Providing resources to pet owners to encourage their responsibility and commitment to their pets and prevent them from contributing to the homeless pet population.
We want to continue to be a valuable resource to our community. We believe that one person can make the difference in the life of an animal in need, so as an organization, we have more strength to help more animals.
As part of our mission, RMGDRI firmly believes that it is our responsibility to do all that we can for every Dane that comes into our haven, into our care.

No organization can be successful without tremendous support from volunteers. Our volunteers are the very best! They give us their time and energy all in the hope of finding good homes for Great Danes. We send each and every one of them a Dane sized THANK YOU!!! It takes very special people to foster a Great Dane. They bring into their home a dog that needs a lot of love and care. Our Fosters become very attached to the Danes they care for, yet when it comes time to let them go, they shed a tear and are happy that the Dane they have cared for has a new forever loving family. We all thank you, but most importantly the Danes whose lives you have touched thank you! We wish to thank everyone, past and present, who has contributed with their hearts, tears, efforts and way way more. Without your contributions and efforts this Great Dane Rescue would not be possible. |
Every Dane that passes through our doors is provided with expert medical care from routine spay and neuters all the way up to major surgery. This beneficial care could not be provided without the support of our many vet partnerships.
It is our goal at RMGDRI, that every foster Dane live in a pre-approved foster home prior to adoption. Sometimes, due to unforeseen circumstances or special needs, our foster Danes spend some time in daycare situations. We want to thank our wonderful daycare providers who have opened their facilities for our foster Danes when the need arises.
On occasion our dogs come in with issues that require special training. RMGDRI works closely with a number of trainers to ensure that our foster dogs are given the best opportunity for adoption. These trainers offer their services at reduced rates to the Rescue and do an outstanding job at helping our foster families and adoptive families work with their new dogs to ensure a successful partnership.
