  Moses

   Status: Permanent Foster

   Sex: Male    Age: 9 years

Moses came into rescue in December 2011, a seemingly happy old man looking for a home to live out his golden years. In January, it seemed that he was having some eyesight issues and began showing some major aggression to the other animals in his foster home, which had been very out of character for him.  As with all cases of sudden aggression, we look to medical reasons first and the  news for Moses wasn't that great and explained a great deal.  The blood tests showed problems with his liver function and the prognosis was that his liver was barely functioning.  He had also lost most of his vision by then, which was a totally separate issue, but most likely also contributed to some aggression as he was feeling very vulnerable.  His foster mom and dad have taken Moses on as a part of the permanent foster family in Rocky Mt. Great Dane Rescue and are doing an amazing job of helping to support his liver and keep him going for as long as he wants to.

And it doesn't sound like Moses is ready to give up yet.  According to his fosters, although he has good days and bad days, the good definitely outnumber the bad and include his love of doing zoomies around the backyard, which he is very familiar and comfortable in.  He's also a big old cuddler and an all around great dog that they truly feel blessed to have in their lives and love him very much.
