Hello! My name’s Daisy. I’m a very sweet girl with a HUGE heart of gold. I’m deaf and blind, but that just makes me all the sweeter if you ask me. I’m a people Dane ~ I love absolutely all people, big or small, tall or short, old or young, I don’t discriminate! I may think I’m a lap dog and I absolutely love to lean for cuddles and pets. I get really excited when I find my people and spin in circles and wag my tail like crazy ~ it’s a big feat you know!
It took me a little bit to warm up to my foster siblings, but we became fast friends! There’s another Dane that can’t hear like me and we just love to play. I like to make lots of noise when I play, particularly some barking and growling, but it’s all meant in good fun and isn’t meant in an aggressive way at all! I just like to make noises so everyone knows I’m there and having fun. There’s another smaller dog that I like to lay with when it’s nap time ~ we’re nap time buddies! I’m just now meeting the other Dane in the house who isn’t deaf, so I’ll let you know how that goes too. And then I get to meet their cat ~ so many fun new experiences!
My eyes have been sutured shut to prevent infection, but I’m still just as happy as can be. I’m also recovering from a little yeast infection in my ears, but that’s healing quickly. I have an infection in my toes, the doc says it might be an autoimmune issue, but with a little love and care, you’d never know! My foster mom puts me in some pretty cool socks and boots every night after she cleans my paws and let me tell you, I look pretty darn stylish! I have some seasonal allergies too (those dang things are the pits!), but I like to look at it as another excuse for some scratches and rubs, and what dog doesn’t love that?!
I may be blind, but man, can I figure out my surroundings quick ~ I found the best ottoman in the house at my foster home in no time and now it’s my favorite place in the house! I’m still new to a leash, but my foster family is working with me and I’m learning pretty quickly. I do really well with hand signals and being led places by touch. I also have the best sense of smell of anyone around! I can find my foster mom anywhere in the house.
I think that just about sums me up. There’s so much to me, you just have to meet me ~ one hour with me and I can promise you won’t want to leave without taking me with you!
I’m currently living in Nebraska.
