Long Term Resident

Gerry

Gerry came to RMGDRI in February of 2009 as an owner turn in from Grand Junction, CO. It was quickly discovered that he struggled to walk, often falling down. After a trip to an RMGDRI vet, Gerry was diagnosed with Wobblers. It was determined that due to his medical condition, he would be placed in our Permanent Foster Program. He will spend the rest of his days living with a wonderful family in northern Colorado.

His foster mom writes:

Gerry has 1 dog brother (who is also special needs), three cat sisters, a 9 foot snake sister and another brother that is a lizard. We refer to our home as "The Animal Kingdom". Weighing in at 135 pounds Gerry is definitely the king of this castle.
He lives in the country on 2 acres and loves to run and play. He likes watching the rabbits and birds, and is very interested in what they are doing. His favorite outdoor game is retrieving his "oversized" tennis ball. Because of Gerry's Wobblers we do keep a close eye on him and how rambunctious he gets. We are still working with his medication to find the right balance for him.
Gerry knows his basic commands like come and sit. He is now working on how to shake. He almost has it, just a few more lessons. He loves the attention during this learning time and hearing what a good boy he is.

Gerry has become very attached to his foster dad. He wants to be with him or be able to see him all the time. He loves to hang out on his own futon and watch TV or just chew on his bone, as long as Dad is close by.

We have absolutely fallen in love with Gerry and will always have a forever home for him.
