If you have a Great Dane to turn in, we need the following information when you contact us:

1. Your name and phone number (day and evening) and email address.

2. Your location.

3. Dane's name, age, sex, color.

4. Are it's ears natural or cropped?

5. Has the Dane been spayed or neutered?

6. Is the dane current on vaccinations?

7. Does the dane have any medical problems?

8. Is the Dane Microchipped?

9. Is the Dane house trained?

10. Is the Dane crate trained?

11. Is the Dane leash trained?

12. Does the Dane know any commands?

13. Does the Dane bark?

14. Does the Dane dig?

15. Is the Dane good with dogs?

16. Is the Dane good with cats?

17. Is the Dane good with kids?

18. Does the Dane sleep in House?

19. Is the Dane allowed on furniture?

20. Does the Dane chew?

21. Does the Dane like car rides?

22. Any known dislikes?

23. Why do you want to surrender the Dane?

24. What bad habits or temperament issues does the Dane have?

25. Where did you get the dane?

If you got the dane from a Breeder or a Rescue, please provide the name of the Breeder or Rescue, their address and phone number if available. Most reputable breeders and rescues require that you return the dane to them if you can no longer keep them, so be sure to check with them first. If you spoke to them and they could not take the Dane back, please let us know who you spoke with, the date and the reason you were given.

Please remember that we are all volunteers with full time jobs. We will get back to you as soon as we possibly can.

No one answers our phone line. It is a message system, so if you don't leave a message, we can't call you back. Hanging up when you hear the answering machine only fills up our voice mail and makes it more difficult for others to get in touch with us.

Most phone calls and emails are returned in the evenings, usually within 24 to 48 hrs.

The more advance time you can give us before turning in a dane, the better we can match them to one of our foster homes. Please also let us know if you can keep the Dane until placed.

We do require you to sign an owner release form when turning in a Dane.
